On 19 August 2021, the first Writers’ Thursday (Presented by BMG) since the outbreak of the pandemic was able to take place in a unique open-air ambience in the courtyard of the former Amtsgericht in Kantstraße.
The Amtsalon as a place of cultural transformation thus provided the backdrop for readings by Norman Ohler, Juliane Liebert, Sven Regener, Ronya Othmann, Johann Scheerer and Helene Hegemann. In the sheltered inner courtyard, young and new literature could finally be heard and discussed live again under COVID-compliant conditions.
Among them, Norman Ohler’s book “Harro und Libertas” linked to the history of the place. The protagonists of his work Harro and Libertas Schulze-Boysen were imprisoned as resistance fighters in the prison complex on Kantstraße during the Nazi era.
